Artist Statement

Often working representationally as a means of communicating daily realities, contradictions and happenstance, I am searching to present complex iterations of ideas intertwined with meticulous application of image and material. In this way, over the past couple of years, I have found spaces and the way we paradoxically, ironically and/or awkwardly interact with them, often architecturally, to provide interest and tension. What objects of mediation do we employ in these mundane (and not so mundane) interactions? How do we construct meaning through lived experience? Relying on my own experiences as a sort of flâneuse, the result is specifically personal, yet openly tangible.
